Some days, I feel I have nothing to say. That, or there’s too much to say, that trying to write seems like filling a thimble from a firehose. So, what do I do? Give up and wait for inspiration or clarity?
Nah.
Somerset Maugham said, “I write only when inspiration strikes. Fortunately it strikes every morning at nine o’clock sharp.”
Rich Litvin says, “Clarity is not essential, before you begin. It will arise on the journey.”
So if you can choose when inspiration strikes, and clarity arises after you start, why wait?
I had no idea what I was going to write, but I decided to seek inspiration from my own struggle and clarify my thoughts about it by writing.
Done and done.
